Not only is this cocktail GORG AND DELICIOUS, but this Vodka Hibiscus Cocktail is also super simple to craft together. Made with only four ingredients, it is hands down a spring and summertime go-to cocktail.

Two vodka hibiscus cocktails with lime and mint.

A splash of homemade hibiscus simple syrup mixed with pineapple juice, vodka, and lime produces this beautiful purple color.

I can’t get enough of this drink’s prettiness. It looks like a cocktail you serve for your best girlfriend’s birthday bash or a cocktail handed to Mamma on Mother’s Day. I call it The Missy. Missy Elliot’s favorite color is purple, duh! But give it your own signature name. That’s the fun part.

Ingredients for a Vodka Hibiscus Cocktail

The awesome thing about this cocktail is that it is so bar-worthy yet only requires four ingredients.

Text of ingredients for a vodka hibiscus cocktail.
  • Vodka – use your favorite, I prefer Tito’s – subtle and clean.
  • Pineapple Juice – I use canned pineapple juice, but if you are up for it, by all means, use fresh-squeezed pineapple juice.
  • Hibiscus Simple Syrup – homemade hibiscus simple syrup is easy and costs much less than store-bought syrup.
  • Lime Juice – I always prefer freshly squeezed lime juice, but bottled lime juice works well too.
  • Mint leaves – completely optional, but who doesn’t want a pretty, yummy garnish like mint in their cocktail?

Vodka Hibiscus Cocktail Instructions

This cocktail couldn’t be easier to make. For this reason, it’s made all spring and summer long. No judging; we’re all friends here at Cabin Cravings.

First, fill a cocktail shaker halfway with ice. Next, pour the vodka and pineapple juice into the shaker. Juice in the lime. Lastly, add the hibiscus simple syrup. Then shake!

  • See the recipe card for measurements.

Cabin Tip

If you want to serve it in a glass with ice and want that pillowy froth on top, shake it vigorously for at least 30 seconds. I’m giving you a workout, too; it’s a no-guilt cocktail. To make it a martini-like cocktail, pour through a strainer and let that sexy purple color do all the talking. Who’s thirsty?

Substitutions

  • If you are not a vodka fan, use gin or white rum instead.
  • Make it a margarita, and use clear tequila instead of vodka. It’s the perfect cocktail for that Cinco De Mayo soiree in the yard.
  • To make it a tropical cocktail, use mango juice instead of pineapple. The juice should be yellowish to create this beautiful purple color.
  • Make it a mocktail, use club soda instead of vodka

Vodka Hibiscus Cocktail for a Crowd

This crowd-pleasing cocktail is perfect for any party or get-together. An easy-to-make, memorable, signature cocktail. There are two options when planning to serve this at your next party…

  1. Make ahead! Who doesn’t love that option? Mix the vodka, pineapple juice, and lime in a pitcher. Right before serving, add the hibiscus simple syrup. If the syrup sits for too long, it will collect at the bottom. Don’t add any ice until ready to serve; that will dilute the drink. Have a cocktail shaker by the ready-made pitcher for those peeps who like the frothy top.
  2. Have a Vodka Hibiscus Bar. Give the cocktail your signature name and set out all the ingredients with a recipe card. It’s simple and fun.

It makes an awesome signature cocktail for your next…
