This Elderflower Rose Cocktail is the cocktail you make when you want to genuinely impress someone. Crafted around the stunning Empress Rose Elderflower Gin, it’s tart, frothy, and yeah, kind of a showstopper.

What Makes This Elderflower Rose Cocktail Special

This isn’t your average gin drink. The Empress Elderflower Rose Gin brings a delicate floral note that pairs beautifully with the brightness of fresh grapefruit and lemon. A splash of St. Germain elderflower liqueur layers in just enough sweetness without tipping it into dessert territory. And the egg white, don’t skip it, gives the whole thing a silky, frothy finish that makes it feel genuinely special.

It’s the kind of cocktail that looks like it came from a craft cocktail bar. Except you made it. In your kitchen. In ten minutes.

Some bottles just stop you in your tracks. That’s exactly what happened when I spotted Empress Elderflower Rose Gin at my local shop. The color alone, that soft, blush pink, practically begged to be turned into something beautiful. I knew immediately a cocktail had to be crafted around it.

Don’t walk past this bottle if you see it. Grab it.

What came out of that impulse buy is one of my favorite cocktails to date. It’s tart. It’s frothy. And not overly sweet. And that pale pink color with a cloud of foam on top? Absolutely showstopping.

Momma is going to be very happy when I hand her this on Mother’s Day. Alongside my phyllo mushroom purse appetizer and a little whipped feta dip. Let’s get to it!

Elderflower Rose Cocktail Ingredients

  • Empress Rose Elderflower Gin — Non-negotiable. This is the star of the show and the whole reason this cocktail exists. That blush pink color, that floral note — nothing else comes close. Don’t substitute.
  • Fresh Grapefruit Juice — Fresh is always best, but bottled will absolutely do here. Just make sure it’s 100% juice, not a grapefruit cocktail mix.
  • St. Germain Elderflower Liqueur — I’ve tried other elderflower liqueurs. St. Germain wins every time. Stick with this one — it makes a difference.
  • Fresh Lemon Juice — Always fresh. Always. This one’s not negotiable either. Bottled lemon juice will flatten the whole drink.
  • Egg White — This is what gives the cocktail that gorgeous, silky foam on top. If raw egg whites make you nervous, swap in a cocktail frother, I get mine on Amazon, and it works just fine.

How To Make An Elderflower Rose Cocktail

Step 1: Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker without ice. Shake hard for about 15 seconds. This is what builds that gorgeous, frothy foam from the egg white. Don’t skip this step.

Step 2: Add ice to the shaker and shake again for another 15–20 seconds until well chilled.

Step 3: Strain into a chilled coupe glass. The foam will rise to the top naturally; it’s a beautiful thing.

Step 4: Totally optional. But come on, when you have a sip that looks this pretty, a garnish is kind of a no-brainer.

Let’s Talk Garnishes

This is where you get to have a little fun. The foam on top of this cocktail is basically a blank canvas — and the right garnish takes it from pretty to really pretty.

Edible Flowers — Okay, I’m a little obsessed at the moment. I grabbed mine on Amazon and they’re making an appearance on almost everything. My carrot cake, pretty much every cocktail I make. Everything except my manly mules. They get a pass. A petal on that foam and this cocktail is absolutely stunning.

Lemon Twist — Classic, elegant, never wrong. If you’re keeping it simple, this is your move.

Fresh Mint — A sprig tucked alongside the glass adds a little color and a fresh aroma that plays nicely with the floral notes in this cocktail.

Dehydrated Grapefruit — This is the one I keep reaching for. I love the ones from Citreve — once they sit in your cocktail they start to infuse a little extra flavor right into the drink. Gorgeous and functional. That’s my kind of garnish.

A Few Tips Before You This Shake Up

  • Use Fresh Juice. Bottled grapefruit works fine, but if you want a really fresh sip use freshly squeezed grapefruit juice.
  • Egg white safety. Nervous about raw egg whites? Pasteurized egg whites work perfectly and are easy to find at most grocery stores.
  • Chill your glass. Pop your coupe in the freezer for a few minutes before you pour. A cold glass keeps everything tasting its best.
  • Batch it. Hosting a crowd? Scale this up, leave it in a pitcher in the fridge, and then shake in batches. It holds up beautifully.

Perfect For

This Rose Elderflower Cocktail earns a permanent spot in the rotation because it fits just about any occasion — and pulls it off every single time.

Girls’ Night — It’s pink, it’s pretty, and it’s got just enough edge to feel grown-up. Set out the ingredients and let everyone shake their own. Instant hit.

Dinner Parties & Entertaining — This is your signature cocktail moment. Serve it as guests arrive and watch the compliments roll in. It looks far more complicated than it is, which is always the goal.

Spring & Summer Sipping — The grapefruit and elderflower combo is practically made for a warm afternoon on the porch. Light, bright, and refreshing , it’s peak warm-weather drinking.

Special Occasions & Date Night — The frothy top, the blush color, the floral notes. This cocktail has romance written all over it. Valentine’s Day, anniversaries, or just a random Tuesday when you feel like making the evening feel a little more intentional.

Mother’s Day — Momma approved.

Don’t Miss The gin

If you see Empress Elderflower Rose Gin at your local spirits shop, pick it up. The color is stunning, the flavor is unlike anything else on the shelf, and it opens up a world of cocktail possibilities. This one is just the beginning.

And that’s a wrap on my new favorite cocktail. Pink, frothy, and way too easy to drink — this one’s a keeper. Make it for Mother’s Day, girls’ night, date night, or honestly any Tuesday that needs a little lift.
